Bio

Of Scottish descent, Lynda was born, in Newcastle, NSW and raised in Lithgow, near the Blue Mountains. Her mother tells the story, of regularly singing the chorus “Jesus Loves Me” to her baby daughter, to find to her surprise, that one day, Lynda started to sing it back to her, well before she was able to talk.

This truth “Jesus loves Me!” was imprinted in her life from its earliest years and became the anchor point for her future. Her family were active in their local church, and Lynda grew in her love for God.  At the age of 13, she experienced a powerful touch from the Holy Spirit, that accompanied her public profession of faith.  Her faith was ignited and with it came the clear call of God. “I felt filled to overflowing with God’s love and joy.  I sensed the whole course of my life had altered. All I wanted to do was to serve and praise Him!  I knew I was called to ministry and to use the gifts God had given me to glorify Him.”

Lynda’s teen years that followed were often lonely, marred by peer rejection, attacks on self-worth and brokenness.  Jesus remained her anchor through the darkness, leading her out of the valley and into a journey of healing that continues. From the place of brokenness, Lynda’s heart is to see others released into healing as Jesus gently touches and restores.

After graduating with a Bachelor Of Science and Diploma Of Education (Sydney University) Lynda taught high school science in Sydney’s western suburbs.  Later, she worked for Scripture Union NSW as a Schools Worker, covering three metropolitan areas.  The following years, Lynda committed to family life with husband Andrew, nurturing their four young children.  Ministry opened up in this season, as Lynda consistently led small groups and community outreach through playgroups and the Alpha course.  Between feeds, changes, and toddler games, she found time for theological training via external studies.

In 2003, Lynda was invited to step into the Women’s Ministries leadership role as part of the ministry team at her home church. She continues in this role today, working as a passionate disciple maker, committed to seeing leaders raised and released for kingdom work.

Lynda’s speaking gift was recognised and encouraged to flourish within her home church environment.  Since she first started speaking in 2004, an increasing ministry has grown beyond the doors of her home church to include conferences for women and youth and training events for youth pastors and leaders. In 2005, she led a women’s missions trip to The Philippines, where she provided resource training for local pastors.
